SEC Digital Twin Lab (“DT Lab”) is an initiative of the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC). Our core commitment is to usher in a future where the vast wealth of scientific knowledge contained within computational models is easily and readily accessible through digital twins. Our overarching vision is to empower both individuals and organisations, facilitating a deeper understanding and more effective solutions for critical challenges. This empowerment is achieved by enabling the utilisation of the knowledge embedded within digital twins. We aim to provide researchers and scientists with the means to create a positive and tangible impact through their work. Our mission is to design and develop the necessary technology and offer complementary services to transform our vision into a practical and accessible reality.
DT Lab specialises in creating visually engaging and interactive applications that broaden the accessibility of digital twins, making them available to a wider audience. These applications serve as invaluable tools in simplifying the underlying models, while also making it easier to interact with key stakeholders, including government agencies and the general public. In addition to these applications, DT Lab is at the forefront of developing Simulation-as-a-Service (SaaS) infrastructure technology. This technology is designed to facilitate the seamless integration of computational models into distributed federations of models, promoting interoperability. Supported by this technology, we have the capability to operate digital twins in various environments, such as the cloud, on-premises, and high-performance computing settings. This includes the ability to span multiple administrative domains and organisational entities, ensuring the efficient functioning of digital twins across a diverse range of contexts.
DT Lab plays a pivotal role in supporting researchers engaged in a multitude of SEC research programs and projects. An exemplary project we support is the creation of a Digital Urban Climate Twin for the Cooling Singapore initiative. This groundbreaking digital twin empowers users to explore "what-if" scenarios and delve into the possible consequences of urban development actions, such as the implementation of heat mitigation measures, on the urban climate. Furthermore, we are actively engaged in the development of a digital platform for the FRS II Programme. This platform serves as an integrative hub, bringing together models, data, and digital twins that have been crafted by FRS researchers.
DT Lab is committed to ongoing development and expansion of its capabilities. We have a vision to extend our support to additional projects in the future. For a comprehensive understanding of the technology solutions and services we provide, we encourage you to reach out to our dedicated team. They will be pleased to provide you with detailed information and insights into how DT Lab can assist your specific requirements.
