Future Health Technologies
Future Health Technologies (FHT) develops an evidence-based mobile digital health technology concept to transform the healthcare system towards health by prevention and a community-based and patient-centric model, leveraging on scalable digital technologies.
The programme combines new technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence and robotics to develop holistic mobile digital health solutions designed to carry clinical intelligence beyond the hospital. It delivers innovative solutions by:
- acquiring quality data outside of the hospital environment
- identifying actionable information by extracting prognostic and diagnostic markers from the data acquired
- delivering interventions and treatment remotely and, where possible, proactively rather than reactively
The FHT programme focuses on three applications (modules 1–3) that are essential in moving towards future-oriented and sustainable healthcare models, and addresses health-related data challenges from a systemic perspective (module 4):
- Module 1 - Early Detection of Health Risks and Prevention (Mobile sensing)
- Module 2 - Mobile Health Interventions (Mobile communication)
- Module 3 - Connected Rehabilitation Technology and Assistive Devices (Wearable robotics)
- Module 4 - Health Data Governance and Value Creation
Working closely with local agencies and clinical partners, researchers ensure that new tools are applicable to the individual and their social environment, healthcare professionals and healthcare providers, and can be integrated into the Singaporean healthcare delivery workflow.
