Philip KESTEL

Research Engineer at Cooling Singapore

Hallo, ich bin Philip, a German who has made Singapore his home. I joined the Climate and Vegetation Pillar of Cooling Singapore in July 2021. If you haven’t seen me around much, it’s because I can usually be found in Bishan Park, measuring the impacts of vegetation on the microclimate.

I graduated from the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe University in Frankfurt, Germany with a Master’s in meteorology and have been immersed in research since.

Surfing, and the search for wave creating weather systems was what got me first started on this path. I enjoy being outdoors and playing the saxophone (as my neighbors can attest).
