Research Assistant of Cooling Singapore

As a research assistant in Cooling Singapore 2.0, Adrian Tan straddles between data analysis and UX design. He possesses a multidisciplinary training in data science and social science, focusing on urban planning writ large.

In his role as a data analyst, Adrian conducts quantitative data analysis for several projects related to urban microclimate research. He assists in literature review, construction of statistical models, and data visualization. He is currently involved in a research project on a comparative heat perception study in Singapore and Arizona using social media data.

With an interest in anthropology, Adrian enjoys conducting social research such as user experience workshops and user ethnography to understand the complexity of human-computer interactions. He also possesses a strong interest in visual design and analysis. In the CS2.0 Project, Adrian researches, conceptualizes, and brainstorms design ideas. Specifically, he conducts preliminary user research, co-facilitates product management workshops, creates low and high-fidelity prototypes, and engages with internal stakeholders.
