Many ways to cool Singapore
The Cooling Singapore project makes it to the top of the news in The Straits Times for its range of strategies to beat the heat and its approach of getting government agencies onboard its ambitious plan.
The Cooling Singapore symposium on 11 July, held alongside the World Cities Summit, put the spotlight on UHI - an "invisible problem" as guest of honour, Mr Peter Ho put it. One of the outcomes of the Cooling Singapore project is a catalogue of UHI mitigation strategies, which offers many avenues to mitigate UHI. The Straits Times featured the novel approach and innovative strategies on 12 July 2018, after they were presented at the symposium.
